Hello
NOTE: This is NOT preventing me from playing. I'm reporting just for the sake of reporting. Sometimes what to us may seem unrelated may for the developer be the missing link (or noise).
I don't know if related or not with the cache corruption thing, I've been getting more or less this since the ISP outage day.
dnloreto@happyk7 ~/ATITD/eClient $ ./elaunch -1024 &
[1] 12896
dnloreto@happyk7 ~/ATITD/eClient $ *** glibc detected *** double free or corruption (top): 0x080c0de8 ***
[1]+ Aborted ./elaunch -1024
I have an unstable (~x86) gentoo installation. kernel 2.6.11-cko2, AMD XP 2Ghz, 512Mb RAM, Nvidia FX 5200 (bad gfx).
I don't know if the error message has to do with an update I made or a laucher change. It usually gives the error when it has files to download, after the download (the yellow bars, before selecting TCP/IP). After the error, I relaunch and usually 2nd or 3rd try I get in and play normally.
Not problematic, just a bit annoying. As it may be hiding something bigger, better report.
Thanks

EDIT: I tryed setting up the game on my work laptop (Dell Inspirion 8000 with ATI Rage128, Gentoo stable, kernel-2.6.11-cko4). I don't get the glibc error on this laptop. So, maybe it's a problem with my gcc+glibc combo (they differ at home and work).
Pity that I can't play from work... Could "play" without HW 3D acceleration but it was unbearable. Now I managed to get HW 3D Accel (after patching a bug in xorg-6.8.2) but when drawing Egypt (after login) X hangs and I have to connect from another computer by telnet and kill it. :( Seems I will not be watering vines from work ;) At least untill I get a fixed xorg/DRI/r128 release...
