Hello all! I'm running Mandrake Linux 10.0 Official on a dual-processor (2x733 P3) computer with 512mb RAM. I have a NVIDIA TNT2 gfx card. Using GNOME, but have same problem in KDE.

When I try to start ATitD 2 beta, I get an error message in an Untitled window:

"recvfrom: Bad file descriptor
OK"

There is a graphic of a blue 'i' next to the text.

This does not happen when I start ATitD normal (the top option). However, I always get stuck at the "Loading login" screen - no crashes or anything: it just stops doing anything fun! (No modem activity, either)

I have had some success running ATitD WINDOWS version under winex/cedega. However there is a problem that won't let me use the beta (unrelated to the above problem, I think). Under cedega I can log into ATitD normal.

Ugh, any help?

P.S. Love the acronym-filled thread, yeah!

try passing "-udp" as parameter to elaunch.
I think that fixed this error for someone else too.

for both linux and windows... If you want to run the windows client, you are welcome to :-) It isnt a supported method, but you are welcome to do so. However, you must use the launcher in either case since the executables are currently different between linux and windows...

Now, as for you problem... Do you have anything blocking outbound TCP port 2100? eGenesis has changed the the default for Tale2 to use TCP rather than UDP.
