Good day,

Atitd 2 looks good :). But wanted to play with my wife, we're both on the same network, both using Linux on separate computers, can this be done as I just tried to connect at 8:43 PM PST and lost both connections.

Its a broadband connection 512k down.

Check that your NAT router has the latest firmare... It should not be an issue if your router is behaving itself.
