Hi!
Just tried to run the client. I can get into the game, but everything is black with white specks, like a starfield with people's names drawn over it.
I'm on Gentoo Linux with a Radeon 9600 XT, using ATI's latest driver.
Is this a known issue?

Ok could of things can you describe EXACLTY how you start the client?
If you can a screenshot may speek a thousand words. I will give one tip that people gernerally do wrong... You MUST have your current working directory be the eClient directory. If it isnt, it will start downloading like 3K or so files into your current working directory... Be aware the most GUI launchers done change your CWD first...

I started the client the way it said to start it: "cd eClient", then "elaunch". I figured this issue would be related to the video card somehow, but would a failure to load the game resources also result in black textures?
Here's how big my eClient directory is right now:
[39] trejkaz@raven:/mnt/data/Games/eClient> du -s .
262044 .
And I see a bunch of *.ega files in the directory so it doesn't look like the resources are missing or anything.
I'll get a screenshot of the effect tonight if it's still happening. I'm going to try with a few different video drivers to try and rule out that possibility.

i have a similar problem.
i looked at the egenesis.bug file and found many lines which say:
nvrc not supported by this driver.
i can post or send the whole egensis.bug if that helps

Rolling back to the 3.9.x drivers fixed the problem for me. It seems that with every iteration of the ATI drivers, the drivers get a little worse.
