Hi guys,

I heard about of ATITD because of it's Linux client, ironically i am stuck with the windows version for the moment as I am having troubles with eLaunch.

When i lauch the client i always get an error complaining i can't download egeneis.lc from both domains atitd.com and egenesis.com. Altough i can open this file with Mozilla (with proxy) and lynx (no proxy).

What I tryed was to wget the file manually and set it up on my localhost apache (and pointing egeneis.com to 127.0.0.1) and it seemed to work for that particular file. Unfortunately, there are other files to download and if i spoof atitd.com to localhost I'm sure i won't be able to play :)

So, my question is... any problem with the Linux client lately? (I'm using MDK 9.x) I tryed to call a Developer GM from my Windows client but no luck until now. If someone can help it would be apreciated.

The ONLY thing that comes from atitd.com is art resources, you dont have to worry about messing up server connections.

Well... i also have to connect to that domain in order to login right?

I think that everything else is handled with direct ip addresses . . . though when a new client comes out I assume that you'd have to find out and add the new one to your local apache server . . .

Sounds like a workaround that would let you play but not necessarily long term unless you wish to do this many, many times.

rhyddereh is correct, only the webservers are referenced by domain name. (They also are the only part of the login sequence that use HTTP) The actual game servers dont use HTTP and are referenced by IP address.

Sorry for the delay, been up to my eyeballs doing the mac port and the T2 server work.
