Dear all,

I am connected through a proxy server to the internet and am running gentoo linux. I was wondering if it was at all possible to run ATITD through this, since the proxy-tunnel software is windows only (obviously). Now I do have some knowledge of basic portforwarding and such, but I cant see how it can be done.

Anyone have a suggestion on how I can still enjoy this game from this pc?

Regards,

This client doesnt have native proxy support at this point, HOWEVER, you should be able to make it work properly by either using iptables to redirect port 80 to you proxy OR use squid to transparently proxy port 80.

I have started adding proxy support, but it isnt a priority with eGenesis, so I play with it every once in a while and try and make it work. I did fix ONE http bug recently :-)

QUESTION: What is generally considered the RIGHT way to specify a HTTP proxy on linux?
(I dont use them so, I never had a need to figure it out. Is it always command line? Environment variable? how?)

NOTE: I am working on the assumption that you only need port 80 proxied not the main game data stream.

NOTE 2: Since you are new here... I will re-iterate. I am not an eGenesis employee.
